Freedom to roam with your best friend

We love dogs and we know that a holiday, day trip or even a wedding wouldn’t be complete without our furry friends. That’s why we are happy for you to bring along up to two medium sized dogs on your VW camper holiday. Whether it’s for walks with our four legged friends along the South West’s stunning beaches, or adventures in our woodlands and National Parks, there are plenty of dog friendly places for you to enjoy together. Our rules are that you never leave your dog alone in the vehicle at any time of day, that you secure your dog during travel, and that you bring his bed with you as dogs are not allowed to sleep or sit on the rock and roll beds or seats.

Having a stress free time with your dog on holiday

Getting to your destination

Please secure your dog during travel, leaving enough room for your dog to sit/lie down/stand up in comfort. This avoids problems in the instance of sharp breaking, or distractions whilst driving. Small dogs should travel in a crate, whilst larger dogs restrained with a car harness. Allow plenty of comfort breaks, and where possible travel in the morning or late afternoon during the summer months to avoid discomfort caused by heat. Some dogs can get travel sick, so it may be best to speak with your vet prior to travel about travel sickness tablets. Keep the car well ventilated and bring plenty of towels in case of an accident. Bring the dogs bed, bowls and a favourite toy or two to help him/her feel at home.

When you get there

Let your dog get used to their new surroundings straight away by taking him/her for a walk. Remember to walk your dog each morning and evening so they know all the new smells in the area. Plan your day trips so your dog never gets left alone in the vehicle. Its worth checking where the nearest vet is, and if you don’t already have pet insurance it may be worth taking some out for the duration of your trip.

Terms and conditions of your dog’s holiday

We do ask for a supplement of £50 per dog, and we reserve the right to refuse or cancel your booking, minus a booking fee, if the information you provide about your dog is incorrect, if we feel the dog/dogs are unsuitable for the journey or stay in the camper van, if we feel that the dog will damage the vehicle or its furnishings, or if we feel that the dog may be endangered in any way during your trip. Any damage caused during the holiday will be deducted from the deposit.
